The recipient lies on their stomach, and the therapist holds the toes of the foot in one hand while holding the back of the heel in the other. With the person lying face up, the therapist holds the foot on either side and uses their thumbs to stroke down each toe. They then move to the ball of the foot and repeat the downward stroking motion the length of the foot, starting from the toe pads.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Pressure Points<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another effective technique is to stimulate the pressure points in the insteps with a technique known as acupressure. With the person lying on their back, the massage therapist uses one hand to support the top of the foot while the thumb of the other hand is used to press and release the top of the instep. They gradually move down the length of the instep, repeating this press and release motion as far as the back of the heel.
